Choose a Template:

The first thing to embroider letters is selecting the template of your design. You can print an image from your computer or draw it yourself. There are countless free fonts, images, and quotes available online. However, choose relatively thick typefaces rather than scripts and small ones. Once you have chosen your template, transfer it onto a medium-weight tearaway stabilizer for embroidery sewing. Read our guide on How to transfer embroidery pattern.

Prepare the Fabric:

The next step in how to embroider  is to prepare the fabric you want to cut the design. It is easy to use a stabilizer for this. This will guarantee that you have sharp edges and prevent fraying. You can use any of the single-sided or double-sided stabilizers; whatever you like to choose, both are easy to use. Although the double-sided stabilizers feature glue on both sides, they are a little more practical because you don’t need to keep extra adhesive on hand.

Attach the template securely:

As you have attached the stabilizer, now grab the template and attach it to your cloth. If you use a double-sided stabilizer, you should use a built-in adhesive to affix the template to a double-sided stabilizer. But for a single-sided stabilizer, use a spray adhesive to fix the printed paper to the fabric. You can pin the paper down if you don’t have any adhesive before  placing it over sewing machine with embroidery  .

Adjust the width and height of the Stitch:

Now use the ruler to place it down on the fabric and take it to your embroidery sewing machine. Adjust the width and height of the stitch according to your need. It is recommended to test out the stitch on another fabric before the actual fabric.

Start stitching:

How to make embroidery in normal sewing machine? You can begin sewing now as your stabilizer and template are in place. Instead of using your pedal, use the handwheel while embroidering on a sewing machine. Once the fabric has been pierced, slowly turn the needle to bring up the lower bobbin thread. To secure these threads, sew a few more stitches in the same location. Before continuing to embroider with sewing machine, cut away the surplus thread. Take your time and carefully stitch the initial letter’s edges using gentle needle strokes. Before filling in each letter, adjust the fabric as necessary to trace its outline.

Hold the hoop:

How to use embroidery hoop on sewing machine? Hold the hoop in place while embroidering the letters onto the cloth; turn and adjust it according to the need of your pattern and machine embroidery stitches. Doing this makes it simple to manipulate the fabric with little movement to maintain your chosen design and the spacing between your stitches. Select the best suited Hoop size by getting the full the guide on Hoop sizes.

Remove the Paper:

Now at the end, remove the paper from your fabric. If you used the peel-off paper, remove it carefully from stitches to avoid ripping them off. When handling cutaway paper, use the same level of care, and cut the threads as closely as possible without snipping any of them. The remaining paper can then be carefully removed after sewing embroidery.

Helpful Techniques and Stitches:

Can you do embroidery with a sewing machine, perfectly ?Although using the stabilizer on the back can also help keep the fabric flat and secure, you are not always required to use it for the front of the cloth. If you have good freehand sketching skills, you can add the designs to your cloth with chalk or a washable marker. Since you won’t have to worry about attempting to remove the stabilizer paper underneath the design, finishing the project will be simpler.

Adjust the tension of the top thread in stitch machine embroidery to keep the thread a little looser than the thread you will use for other projects. Try to move slowly with the needles to ensure your stitches are as accurate as possible and that you are not leaving any gaps when filling in your designs.

How to do embroidery on clothes with monogramming sewing machine, Well, In accordance with the stitch type you’re using, you might also wish to change the stitch length. A straight stitch should be altered to the standard 2 lengths, while a zigzag stitch should be turned 0.
